Getting incredible control and detail in FiftyThree’s Paper app for the iPad now with their zoom update. First image is zoomed in using the new feature and the other is the actual size so you can see the comparison.
The beauty of this zoom is that a) you make it big as you want but it’s so easy to use b) all the tools work while in the zoom window c) move the zoom window around as you work by grabbing the edge.
I also feel that they tweaked the size of the tools a bit. With my Pogo Connect without zooming, it feels like I can get a thinner line now. Maybe that’s just me.
Two things this does for me. First, I’m going to have some amazingly detailed images now. Second, it’s going to take me a LOT longer to create stuff (but that’s okay).
I know people will say things like “well SketchBook Pro and Procreate have had zoom forever”. Yeah but their interfaces are cluttered and they try to give you the kitchen sink. In addition, I still have yet to find a tool on the iPad that gives me a better ink pen or watercolour brush than Paper does.
Thank you guys! This is an awesome update!
My Influence Map
This is a great meme put together by Matthew Laskowski on deviantART. Basically assemble a collage of your art influences so I put mine together to share with the rest of class.
Clockwise starting at top left:
Had a lot of fun putting it together. As you can see, I’m heavily influenced by comic book artists as that’s what I grew up with and curiously enough everything is black and white. If I had to list *all* of my influences I would probably end up with ten of these but this the main group.
Go visit Matt’s page here to get the Photoshop template to put your own together!
